LET'S TALK, Thursday at 4.30 pm. and Friday al 7 p.m.

This week, let's talk about mind altering drugs. The enlightened approach of some countries and North American states has decriminalised the personal possession and consumption of mind altering substances without significant catastrophic effects, yet change appears to be a low priority for most European governments despite the costly consequences of continued prohibition. Decriminalisation could eliminate the finance of many criminal organisations and increase tax income to the state which appears to be a win-win situation. Which lobbies have an interest in the status quo and why are politicians so reticent to promote change? Come along to your public library for a fun chat in English on Thursday at 4.30pm or Friday at 7pm. Everybody welcome (native English speakers free of charge) for further details please ask at the information desk.
