Let’s talk about PIRACY in La Casa de las Conchas on Friday 4th December at 6.30pm.
It is thanks to Peter Pan, Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island (1883) and Hollywood that the pirates of history have become associated with treasure maps, pieces of eight and walking the plank.
Today the image of a pirate has transformed and evolved with the times to include cheap copies of expensive high street brands, “borrowing” some music from an unknown friend over the internet and hijacking of fishing trawlers or supertankers, not to mention overpaid city fat cats, bankers and expense claiming politicians.
The line between law abiding citizen and pirate is finely drawn … where would you place it?
