Let's talk about frontiers, borders, boundaries and walls. In 1989 the Berlin wall was breached by a tide of social change after only 28 years of division. In a speech in 2004, Donald Trump told college graduates that when confronted by a concrete wall they should find a way over, under or around it. Yet today the same man is bringing the US government to a standstill to force the construction of a wall with the aim of keeping people out of the country. (The objective of the Berlin wall was to keep people in.) Do such walls serve a function? Should borders exist?
