Come along to the Casa de las Conchas on Friday 5th March at 6.30pm for an English speaking session. "Let's Talk" about employment.
The proposal to raise the age of retirement to 67 has provoked a reaction in society and a social dialogue about the future of the job market and how to stimulate economic recovery. While we watch the banking sector awarding itself obscene bonuses we are urged, with an aggressive marketing campaign, to " www.
estosololoarreglamosentretodos.org "
Of 17 million workers in Spain, 11 million earn less than 1000€ a month.
Is the current model sustainable or is radical change necessary?
Have you a proposal that could be put forward? Do you see a bright perspective and what can we all do to improve the future?

It was very interesting listen to the opinion of people supposedly well informed and verify the misunderstandings, misperceptions and some mistakes. For those interested in the economics of pensions, the week before the next (Monday 15, from 12 to 14; Tuesday 16, from 10 to 11; and Wednesday 17, from 10-11) I'm devoting my lectures on Public Finance to the the subject. Salamanca University, Law School, Room 103. You're kindly invited to attend.
Related to the public opinion campaign, though is not in English, I recommend the article from a colleague of mine, that you can find at http://www.fundacionsistema.com/News/ItemDetail.aspx?id=2201.
I only disagree on the title: the one that are asking to fix the crisis are not those that made the damage (spoiled the economy), though the latter are those funding this campaign.
